Derry-Londonderry 2nd most affordable city in the U.K.

According to the Lloyds TSB Affordable Cities Review, Derry-Londonderry is the second most affordable city in the U.K. just behind Salford near Manchester.  Seven out of the top eight most affordable UK cities are located in Northern Ireland or northern England. The property related survey reveals that the average house price in Derry-Londonderry is valued at less than four times average annual earnings, wheras in Truro in Cornwall, the average house price is just less than ten times average annual earnings.

Fans were left reeling after seeing an image on the front page of the National Enquirer which showed Whitney Houston in her coffin at her open-casket funeral service held last week. The image, which came from an unknown source, showed the singer laying in the coffin, in a purple dress. The caption of the photo read, “Whitney: The Last Photo!” Her fans’ horror is clearly visible on social networking sites such as Twitter. “It really made me upset that they have pictures of Whitney in the coffin all over. Sunday Times journalist Marie Colvin murdered by Syrian army

Marie Colvin was murdered by the Syrian army today, while reporting on the civilian massacre in Homs, being perpetrated by the same Syrian military. Reports coming from Lebanese intelligence indicate that the make-shift press centre where Colvin was working from in the Baba Anr district of Homs, was deliberately targeted by Syrian army rocket fire. Rumours had been circulating for some days that the Syrian army was directly targeting foreign journalists in an effort to stop coverage of the civilian massacre unfolding in Homs.
